The Tibetan year is twelve lunar months of thirty days each, with a thirteenth month added roughly every three years so that the year keeps step with the sun. Because a lunar day and a solar day are not the same length, some dates are skipped and some doubled, and an almanac shows which. Losar, the new year, falls in February or March. The pages here will explain the calendar and hold the tool that converts any date.
