Star calculation computes the calendar and the sky from the Kālacakra Tantra’s tables: the mean and true motions of the sun and moon, the planets, and the eclipses. The Phugpa school, codified in the White Beryl, and the Tsurphu school differ in their constants, which is why two almanacs can disagree by a day.
