The Gyüshi is four texts in one. The Root Tantra is the summary, taught through the three trees of the body, of diagnosis and of treatment. The Explanatory Tantra sets out the theory: the body, its formation, its constitution, its ills. The Instructional Tantra, the longest, treats the illnesses one by one. The Subsequent Tantra covers diagnosis in detail and the preparation of medicines and therapies.
