Nyima ate a sandwich for lunch. “Where did this come from?” she asked. Her dad smiled. “A farmer grew the wheat. A baker made the bread. A truck driver brought it to the store. I bought it and made your sandwich.” Nyima looked at her food. So many people helped! “Wow,” she said. “Thank you to all of them!”

Family Helps Each Other
Nyima learned that many people help her every day. Her family helps her a lot. Parents make meals and keep her safe. Grandparents teach her new things. Brothers and sisters play with her. Family members have different jobs. Some cook. Some clean. Some fix things. Everyone helps in their own way. Together, they take care of each other.
Why We Work Together
We work together because we need each other. One person cannot do everything alone. At school, some kids are good at reading. Some are good at math. Some are good at art. When we work together, we help each other learn. In a family, everyone shares the work. Dad might cook. Mom might wash dishes. Kids might set the table. Working together makes things easier and faster.
Where Food Comes From
Food comes from many places. Farmers grow fruits and vegetables. They raise chickens and cows. Food travels from farms to stores. Then we buy it and make meals. This is like a chain! The sun helps plants grow. Plants feed animals. Animals give us food. This is called a food chain. Everything is connected. We depend on farms, trucks, and stores.

Why It Matters
When you know how things are connected, you feel grateful. Someone grew your food. Someone made your clothes. Someone built your school. Many people help you every day. You can say thank you and help others too.
Working together makes everyone’s life better. When your family shares jobs, everyone has more time. When your class works together, everyone learns more. We are stronger together than alone. That’s why we need each other!
